What MoneyGrab collects, why, and how long we keep it. This covers moneygrab.co, the MoneyGrab app and the MoneyGrab browser extension.

What we collect

  • Your account: the email address you sign in with, the name you give us, your state (and New York City, if you pick it), your time zone and your notification choices.
  • Statements you upload: we keep the transaction lines and delete the file itself once it has been read.
  • Mail to your MoneyGrab inbox address: receipts, renewal notices, cancellation confirmations and bank charge alerts that you send or forward there.
  • Your subscriptions: the services you add, when they bill, the plans you set, the cancellations and letters we send for you, refund claims, and a record of each step.
  • Saved sign-ins: for services we cancel from our own browser, an encrypted copy of the signed-in session you create. Never your password.

The browser extension

The extension cancels Netflix, Spotify and Amazon Prime on their own sites, in your browser, using the sign-in you already have there. It also reads your next charge date, price and how often you're billed from your account page on those sites.

  • It sends MoneyGrab only: the result of a cancellation (the site's confirmation sentence, the page address and the time) and those three billing details.
  • Your cookies, passwords and the rest of those pages never leave your browser.
  • It runs only on moneygrab.co, netflix.com, spotify.com and amazon.com: when you use MoneyGrab's pages for those services, and when a cancellation you scheduled falls due.
  • Your scheduled cancellations are stored in your browser, so it can carry them out while MoneyGrab isn't open.

How we use it

Only to run MoneyGrab for you: finding recurring charges, reminding you before they renew, cancelling the ones you choose, and recovering charges made after you cancelled. When we cancel by letter, the letter goes to the company in your name and you are copied.

We don't sell your information, show you ads, or use outside analytics or tracking.

Who handles it for us

  • Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage.
  • Vercel: hosts moneygrab.co.
  • Fly.io: runs our background jobs and our cancelling browser.
  • Resend: sends our email and receives mail to your MoneyGrab inbox address.
  • Expo: delivers the app's push notifications.
  • Anthropic: reads PDF statements our own reader can't, and helps identify companies we don't recognise.

The companies you ask us to cancel receive what the cancellation needs.

How long we keep it

  • Uploaded statement files: deleted once read.
  • Mail that doesn't match one of your subscriptions: deleted after 7 days.
  • Mail that does: kept for 2 years.
  • Saved sign-ins: last 30 days unless renewed, and are deleted 30 days after they expire or you remove them.
  • Letters, confirmations and the record of each step: kept while you have an account, because they are your proof if a company charges you after you cancelled.

Your choices

You can remove a subscription, a saved sign-in or the extension at any time. Deleting your account in Settings permanently deletes everything we hold, including your files. Removing the extension clears what it stored in your browser.
